Getting Started with Airpinpoint

Welcome to Airpinpoint! This guide will help you quickly set up and start using Airpinpoint to track your AirTags and devices.

Step 1: Sign Up and Access Your Dashboard

1. Sign Up: Create an account on the Airpinpoint website.
2. Login: Log in to your account and navigate to your dashboard.

Step 2: Set Up Your iCloud Account

For the best experience, we recommend using a dedicated iCloud account for managing your AirTags.

1. Sign into iCloud: Sign into your iCloud account on the Mac user you want to use for AirTags.
2. Enable FindMy: Ensure FindMy is enabled in the iCloud settings.
3. Enable Location Services: Make sure Location Services is enabled.
4. Full Disk Access: Grant Full Disk Access to Terminal or the Airpinpoint app.
5. Check MacOS Version: Ensure your MacOS version is between 11.13 and 14.x.
6. Swift Version: Ensure you have Swift version 5.5 or higher.
7. Xcode Developer Tools: Install Xcode Developer Tools if not already installed.

Step 3: Get Your Setup Command

1. Dashboard: Navigate to the setup section in your Airpinpoint dashboard.
2. Copy Command: Find and copy your unique setup command.

Step 4: Run Setup Command or Use Mac App

You have two options to complete the setup:

Option A: Mac App (Beta)

1. API Key: Get your API Key from the dashboard.
2. Download App: Download and run the Airpinpoint Mac App.
3. Enter API Key: Enter your API Key into the Mac App.

Option B: Terminal Command (Recommended)

1. Open Terminal: Open Terminal on your MacOS device.
2. Paste Command: Paste the copied setup command and press Enter.
3. Follow Prompts: Follow any additional prompts that appear.

Step 5: Track!

Once setup is complete, you should see your devices in your dashboard. Enable devices you want to keep updated in the dashboard.

1. Map: Navigate to the map in the left sidebar and you should see your AirTags and devices on a map.
2. History: Click on an AirTag or device to view its location history.
